Update from MONA Board/Land Use on issues and upcoming events.

Charlotte Country Club will give two weeks notice of spring kudzu spraying on the golf course perimeter. Neighbors will be informed via Merry Oaks Communications channels.

Charlotte Country Club is within code using leaf blowers before 7:00 AM as long as they’re 150 feet from homes. We met with the Golf Course Superintendent and he is sensitive to the issue. He has informed his workers to avoid blowing at the edges of the golf course before 7 AM.

Late night music noise, especially bass, from the Rebel nightclub on Central Avenue at the creek has been problematic. We connected with the long-time property owners who manage from afar. They’re very concerned about the noise and the litter on the property. In the past several weeks, both issues have been addressed. We’ll continue to be the owners’ eyes on the property and communicate issues to them.

HANDS ON MERRY OAKS Please let Nancy know asap if you can volunteer 10:00-Noon on Saturday, January 27.  Based on how many volunteers we have, we’ll choose several trees on public property to “rescue” by cutting and treating invasive vines that are killing the trees. We’re working with Park & Rec on proper procedures.

If you have issues with the Country Club, the Nightclub or any other neighborhood entity, please consider talking with me (Nancy Pierce, contact info below) so MONA can keep a unified voice and prioritize good relationships.
