They’ll also remove the debris. Our prior work will make theirs much easier.  \n\n\n\nJanuary note from Nancy: I had planned it for winter when Poison Ivy is dormant (January). But turns out herbicide works best three or more weeks after the last deep frost\, during active growing time. DESCRIPTION:Hi all\, message from Nancy Pierce\, MONA Board Land Use & Zoning chair: \n\n\n\nCatawba Riverkeepers will be leading a cleanup for the Briar Creek Greenway on Saturday\, October 7\,  9-12 AM.   Volunteers will meet on Masonic Drive. Supplies will be provided. \n\n\n\nNancy checked the sign-up and people to clean the creek edges are not needed. That’s marked “FULL”. There are three slots open for people to wade in the creek. Hip boots anyone? \n\n\n\nThe link to sign up is:  catawbariversweep.org  On the top left\, click the blue box that says Volunteer\, select City Creeks and then select Briar Creek @ Merry Oaks.
